Organic & Certified

Our Organic Rope Mussels and farming practices are certified to EU organic regulation 834/2007 standard.

This certification assures the organic environment in which our mussels are grown, in addition to managing our process and local efforts to work organically and sustainably for all in our environment.

All our farming procedures are committed to sustaining the quality of the waters Roaring Water Bay.

We endeavor to assure a minimum waste stream whilst innovating in our uses of new biodegradable materials.

Our ropes are reusable and some 15 years old years old and still fit for farming. All our baby mussels are grown on biodegradable cotton and all our packaging in 100% biodegradable too.

Growing mussels is also a great way to capture carbon, and contribute to a zero-carbon future. Their shells are composites of calcium carbonate and organic material created by the mussels through a process known as biomineralisation.

All our growing, processing, packaging and office facilities implement waste management and recycling programmes

Our method of production means the shells never touch the sea bed, guaranteeing they will be free of grit that often spoils the taste of mussels that have been growing on the ocean floor.

We work our ropes more often, to ensure uncluttered rope space for each mussel, in order to maximize growth potentials, allowing them to grow large, succulent and tastier contents.

We are 100% committed to eco-friendly, sustainable and environmentally responsible production.
